Polyomino Reptiles in 2 and Higher Dimensions

Michael Reid, University of Massachusetts

We consider polyomino "reptiles", i.e. polyominoes that tile larger copies of themselves. It is a simple observation that any polyomino that tiles a rectangle is a reptile. Whether or not the converse should be true is an intriguing question!

In this talk, we consider analogous questions in d >= 3 dimensions, where we can obtain some interesting results.

This is joint work with Robert Hochberg.
