Department News

The department and the Center for Women in Mathematics at Smith sponsor talks every Tuesday at noon. There is also an ongoing applied statistics lectures series. Both these series are open to all. Undergraduate students are encouraged to attend, and even give talks. We also have annual named lectures: CVC and UCVC, Dickinson and McCoy lectures.

János Pach of the Courant Institute will be presenting a series of lectures as part of his Neilson lectureship: November 5 "In the rainbow of Chaos - Disorder in discrete mathematics", November 13 "From graph drawing to intersection patterns of geometric objects" and November 18 "From Sam Loyd's puzzles to motion planning".
