Local TeX and LaTeX information
Local TeX and LaTeX information
The Unix workstations in the Scientific Visualization Lab (Burton Hall
third floor) run current versions of TeX and LaTeX, including LaTeX2e
(version 6/99). This page will be updated (from 12 July 99) with new
information about the current version.
Documents can
incorporate graphics and they can be previewed using xdvi and
converted to Postscript for printing using dvips.
A dozen printer fonts are available. The screen previewer xdvi
now has the capability to display these fonts as well as embedded
Postscript graphics.
Use the following guides to help you prepare TeX and LaTeX documents.
Paper copies of most are available in Burton 303; you can read them
online by clicking on the title. (Some of the online versions are DVI
files; to read them your browser must be able to "spawn an external
viewer".)
