If you completed these courses in high school (or elsewhere) but did not
take trigonometry or precalculus you will probably want to start off
with Elementary Functions (MTH 102) at Smith. If you feel
you might not need it, try the self-placement quiz which is
available from the mathematics department. MTH 102
will prepare you for Calculus I (MTH 111) which in
turn is a requirement for many other math courses. You may also start
with Discovering Mathematics (MTH 105),
or
Statistical Thinking (MTH 107).
