The Minors

The basis for the minor consists of Linear Algebra (MTH 211 or MTH 221 Infinite Dimensional Linear Algebra). A total of 16 additional credits must be taken from one of the following groups. In the applied mathematics minor, four of the credits may be replaced by eight credits from other departments or programs provided that such courses contain substantial mathematical content (see the list above in the Major requirements) and the student completes a major or minor in the corresponding department or program.

Applied Mathematics Minor: 153, 204, 212, 222, 225, 233, 245, 246, 247, 254, 255, 264, 325, 353, 346, 364, PHY 211.

Discrete Mathematics Minor: 153, 204, 233, 238, 254, 255, 333, 353, PHI 220, CSC 250.

Algebra-Analysis-Geometry Minor: 153, 212, 217, 224, 233, 238, 243, 325, 333, 342, 343, PHI 220.

Mathematical Statistics Minor: 212, 245, 246, 247, 290, 346.

Statistics Minor: The minor in applied statistics does not require MTH211 (Linear Algebra), but consists of 5 courses (111, 245, 247, 290 and one or more of the following: BIO260, PSY303, SOC203, ECO240, MTH246, MTH346).
